Coming in August … Scorpio Begins

Coming in August 2014

My name is Connor McClane, and if you haven’t guessed, I’m a Scorpio. Few women have ever made an impression on me. Not one of them could live up to the sexual prowess of Meredith Kincaid, the woman who stole my virginity and taught me to be a man. Now, three years later, we meet again. She wants me, but only on her terms. She has a secret. I want to keep it casual and am determined not to fall in love. Yet we draw together like the proverbial moth to a flame. So I am entangled in a web of sensual exploration and emotion that leads to a cataclysmic confrontation with the man who has vowed to own Meredith. Will I say yes to the possibilities?

Join Connor and Meredith for lots of steamy hot sex while we learn about the boy who will become the billionaire in this prequel of The Scorpio Saga.

SCORPIO BEGINS Snippet #2 – Meredith

Couple EmbracingMy goodness; it’s hard to believe a month just flew by since I last posted. Never fear, I’ve been writing away on “Scorpio Begins,” and I’m well into the first draft. Here’s a snippet of what I’ve been working on:

By the time they reached the outskirts of Kincardine, Connor was in his element and drove with confidence. Meredith pressed a button on the cassette player, and the sounds of the Eagles blended with the early summer sounds of the small town. Connor’s fingers tapped the wheel, and he hummed along as Don Henley belted out “Hotel California.”  A ray of the setting sun lit the fine brown hairs on Connor’s forearm. Meredith felt as if the muscles cried out for her to stroke them. As if reading her mind, Connor reached over and ran his fingers along the side of her face before letting his hand come to rest on her thigh.  Warmth radiated through his hand spreading through her like the burn of a fine brandy.

Connor pulled into a parking spot in front of the restaurant. He pocketed the keys as he waited for her to get out of the car. His hand slid around the back of her neck as they climbed the stairs to the entrance. Meredith tried to make it look like she needed something in her purse as she rolled out of his grasp. She felt Connor stiffen beside her; she chose to ignore it as they went through the ornate wood and brass door of the steakhouse.

“Good evening, madam.” The maître d’ glanced at Connor.

“Good evening, Charles.”

“Your table is ready. Will anyone else be joining you this evening?”

“No, there’s just the two of us as I mentioned when I called.” Meredith’s voice dripped with disapproval.

“Right this way.” The maître d’ led the way through the busy dining room to a private alcove in a back corner of the restaurant. He pulled the inside chair out for Meredith while Connor took the other. He shook the napkin and placed it on Meredith’s lap before doing the same for Connor.

“Your server will be right with you. Is there anything else I can do for you this evening?”

“No thank you; that will be all, Charles.”

Meredith opened her menu before glancing up to see Connor staring at her.

“What’s the matter?”

“Who else did he think would be joining us?”

“I’m sure it’s what he’s supposed to say. Why do you ask?”

“Well, let’s see. You moved away from me, presumably so no one could see me touch you. You’re obviously well known in this restaurant. He asked if anyone else would be joining you as if he expected someone; and unless I’m missing something, I doubt very much whether you have enough clout to have your own table in a restaurant like this. So what am I missing, Meredith?” Connor’s tone was even and measured, his eyes sliced through her like cold steel.

SCORPIO BEGINS Snippet #1 – Connor

Connor threw his head back, taking huge breaths while he felt Meredith’s warmth enhancing his pleasure. He’d waited so long to feel her, yet nothing had prepared him for the intensity of their reunion. She reached up and pulled him on top of her. He stilled feeling the crush of her breasts against his chest as they lay, heart to heart. Rolling onto his back, he drew her into the crook of his arm, her head tucked under his chin. Connor buried his nose in her hair, inhaling deeply as if her scent carried everything he would ever need to survive. She ran her long fingers lightly through the dusting of chest hair that circled his nipples, sighing.

“I missed you,” she said. “I wish we could stay like this forever.”

Scorpio Awakens Chapter 17 Snippet – Connor

ScorpioAwakensCover-socialmediaDisclaimer: May be edited or deleted prior to publication.

Greetings Readers! Work on the book is progressing full speed. I’m doing the very last read-through to ensure that you’re getting the best story before I send it off to the publisher. Meanwhile, thanks again for your patience and support! In your honour, here’s a snippet from Chapter 17.

It was Connor’s turn to look away and examine the interior of the limousine. What was it about Tim that unsettled him? There were only three people in his life who had ever had the ability to strike an emotional chord in him—Brian, Meredith and Katherine. And now, here was Tim with his academic analysis and charming personality triggering a degree of self-examination that Connor had always avoided. There was something about him that Connor couldn’t quite put his finger on, but Tim’s calm, caramel-brown eyes seemed to bathe him with acceptance making him feel at peace. He shook himself back to the present. Tim was still looking at him.

“Let’s see. She’s told me that you’re the first man she ever had an orgasm with, and, until recently, you were the only person who had ever brought her to orgasm. And she told me that she’s afraid you won’t be able to satisfy her sexual needs. She’s afraid she might have to leave you to find what she needs.”

“Cut the crap, Connor. You really can be a prick, can’t you. Don’t try to play me. We can either agree to work honestly together for Katherine’s sake, or we can call it quits right now. Quite frankly I’m surprised by you. Kat led me to believe you were a better person than this. She believes in you. Is she wrong?”

Connor sighed. Katie was right. Tim might seem like the mild-mannered professor, but there was a core of steel and decency in this man, and it would take more than Connor had to offer to shake his foundation.

“I apologize, Tim, and you’re right. I don’t know what got into me. Maybe I’ve been a player for so long that it’s second nature.”

“That’s more crap and you know it. You can be whoever you wish to be. And for this to work with me, with us, I need your word that you’ll be as honest with me as I commit to being with you. That is the only way we can do this without endangering Kat’s emotional stability, and I won’t allow anything to even come close to threatening her in any way.”

“Neither would I,” Connor said heatedly. “Katie is possibly the only person alive that I would go out of my way to protect. I will never do anything to intentionally hurt her.”

“And I will never allow anyone or anything to cause her pain if it’s in my power to prevent it,” Tim said.

“I may have the power to bruise her, Tim, but only you have the power to break her. If I allowed myself to feel envy, I’d certainly feel it about your relationship with Katie.”

“Huh, that’s what Kat said,” Tim said.

“What, that I could bruise her?

“No, that I was the only person she’d allowed in and that I could destroy her.”

“Our Katie is a wise woman,” Connor said. “You’ll learn most of what she said when she gushed about you during your training. She made it clear that you’re the centre of her universe.

May romance be with you!
